Karnataka Postal Circle released a Special Cover "Celebrating the 175th year of issuance of Penny Black", at Meghdhoot Auditorium, G.P.O., Bangalore on 6th May 2014. Shri M. S. Ramanujan, Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle released the cover and the first cover was presented to Shri S. S. Swamy, Vice President of Karnataka Philatelic Society. Ms Veena Ramkrishan PMG (BD) also seen in the picture. Well known Philatelist Dr. Sita Bhateja gave a special talk on Penny Black on the occasion. The Cover and Cancellation are designed by noted philatelist Mr. Ramu M. Srinivasa of Bangalore. Single Frame Exhibit on Penny Black will be on display at the venue.
