The Minister of Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu flagged off eight new trains by remote control at a function here today. These trains are; i) 22813/22814 Paradeep-Howrah Express (Weekly), ii) 58505/58506 Gunupur-Visakhapatnam Passenger (Daily), iii) 56035/56036- Tiruchendur-Tirunelveli passenger (Daily), iv) 58659/58660- Hatia-Rourkela Passenger (Daily), v) 16863/16864 Mannargudi-Bhagat ki Kothi (Jodhpur) Express (Weekly), vi) 15547/15548 Jaynagar-Mumbai Jansadhran Express (Daily), vii)14613/14614- Ferozpur-Chandigarh Express (Daily) and viii) 56665/56666- Byndoor-Kasargod Passenger (Daily).
These trains are a part of the budget announcements made in the Railway Budget 2014-15 (February and July). A total number of 22 new train services and one extension of existing train service will be implemented over a period of next ten days. Out of these 22 train services, eight trains were flagged off by the Railway Minister today and remaining train services will be implemented in the course of next nine days.
The Minister of State Shri Manoj Sinha was present on the occasion. Also present on the occasion among others were Board members and senior railway officials.
