NFIR demanding to enhance the limit of exemption in Transport
allowance on Income Tax from the existing level of Rs.800 to Rs.3200 plus
Dearness allowance thereon. Already in Departmental Council JCM meeting the
Staff Side had agreed to make a reference to the Finance Ministry. A copy of
the reference thus made was to be given to the NFIR. Since the copy of
reference made to the Finance Ministry has not been received to NFIR, till date
whether the said reference, as agreed to, has been made or not. So, NFIR
therefore, requests the Railway Board to send copy of reference made to the
Finance Ministry early.
