Commemorative Stamp on Indian Academy of Pediatrics released on 8/11/2013

The Indian Academy of Pediatrics was formed after amalgamating the Association of Pediatricians in India based at Mumbai and the Indian Pediatric Society based at Calcutta during its joint meeting at Hyderabad in 1963. The IAP Secretariat is situated at Mumbai. Today, the IAP has around 19,000 members with 140 branches which work for the furtherance of IAP's objectives and work independently as per IAP's constitution. India Post issued a commemorative stamp to commemorate 50 years of Indian Academy of Pediatrics on 8th November 2013.
 

Commemorative Stamp on 75 Years of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan released on 7/11/2013

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan an educational trust was founded on 7th November 1938 by Dr. K. M. Munshi, with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi. The trust operates a number of primary and secondary institutes in India and abroad. It organizes and runs 100 private schools in India. The schools are known as Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, or Bhavan's Vidyalaya. India Post issued a commemorative stamp to mark 75 years of foundation of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on 7th November 2013.

Revised Recruitment Rules of PS Gr. B still in dark

It is learnt from Directorate that there is no progress in preparation of Revised Recruitment Rules of PS Gr. B cadre. CHQ has already requested Directorate to reduce the quota of LDCE of general line officials in PS Gr. B examination, but due to following CAT cases at various benches department is not in position issue the revised RRs of PS Gr. B and to hold Sr. PM examination. 

It is requested to the applicants of following CAT cases to intimate the present status of cases to CHQ. Concerned Circle Secretaries will also ascertain the status and intimate to CHQ.

Today, Directorate released memo for promotion to JAG cadre. Total 27 officers promoted from STS Gr. A cadre to Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) Gr. A Cadre. Each officer have been asked over phone to assume the charge with immediate effect. Few of them have joined today itself.
First time in the postal history, IP Line officers are promoted to the cadre of JAG and few of them will also get SAG in due course.

Bill to provide UIDAI legal status in Winter Session: Planning Commission

The Bill that seeks to provide statutory status to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will be introduced in the winter session of the Parliament next month.
 
"...all necessary steps have been taken for introduction of the National Identification Authority of India Bill, 2013 in the winter session of Parliament likely to commence from the 1st week of the next month," Planning Commission said in a statement.
 
According to the press release, the Union Cabinet has already approved the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Planning for moving official amendments to the Bill last month.
 
The government had introduced the National Identification Authority of India Bill, 2010, in December that year.
 
Lok Sabha Speaker, in consultation with the Chairman, Rajya Sabha had referred the Bill to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance.
The Committee presented the Report to the Lok Sabha and tabled it in Rajya Sabha on December 13, 2011.
 
In the meantime, the UIDAI has been functioning under an executive order issued by the government in January 2009.
 
The Bill proposes to constitute a statutory authority to be called the National Identification Authority of India and lay down the powers and functions of the Authority, the framework for issuing Aadhaar numbers, defines offences and penalties and matters incidental thereto through an Act of Parliament.
 
The authority has issued so far, about 47 crore 85 lakh Aadhaar numbers.

Commemorative Postage Stamp on Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar will be released on 14/11/2013.

New Delhi: Hosts of Sachin Tendulkar's 200th and last Test - Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) - have announced that they will release a commemorative postal stamp with Tendulkar's photo at the presentation before the start of the second Test between India and West Indies on November 14 at the Wankhede Stadium.
"It was decided interalia to come out with commemorative postal stamp with Sachin's photo at the presentation before the start of the match, followed by presentation to be made jointly by BCCI and MCA," the association said in a statement.
Also, the MCA will come out with a 64-page brochure consisting of articles and quotes from personalities belonging to different fields on Tendulkar. Also a special coin will be used for the toss, which will be preserved by MCA.
 
A Commemorative Postage Stamp will be released on 14th November, 2013.

Two stamps of denomination of Rs. 20/- each, sheetlet worth Rs. 320/-, miniature sheet, first day cover and information brochure will also be released on 14th November 2013 by Shri Sharad Pawar Hon'ble Union Minister and President of MCA before commencement of second test match between India and West Indies.
