GS writes to Member (Personnel) requesting speedy action on conducting DPC for promotion to the cadre of Postal service Group 'B' for the year 2020

Sub:- Convening DPC for promotion to the cadre of Postal service Group 'B' for the year 2020 - reg.

Respected Sir,

As per prevailing instructions, DPC should be held well in advance so that a panel is approved by the time vacancy actually arises. As per the Model Calendar for conducting DPCs circulated vide Department of Personnel and Training OM No.22011/4/2013-Estt(D) dated 8^th May, 2017, the prescribed timeline for getting ready the approved select panel for the vacancy year - 2020 was 31^st December, 2019.

Now, for initiating the process for conducting the DPC for promotion to the cadre of PS Group 'B' for the year 2020, Directorate has called for documents from the Circles vide Personnel Division No.9-06/2020 - SPG-II dated 21-01-2020. But, thereafter no progress seems to have taken place in the matter.

The delay in conducting the DPC is impeding the career progression of the senior eligible IPs/ASPs and affecting their consequential benefits.

Therefore, we request for taking speedy action in the matter for convening the DPC at the earliest possible and to grant promotion to the cadre of Postal service Group 'B' in time.
